A customer observation report—not a technician inspection. Choose “Not sure” whenever you cannot answer safely.

Tell us about your garage.

Tap the choices that describe your setup. You can leave an unfamiliar detail as “Not sure.” Do not climb, measure springs or operate the door to find an answer.

Number of doors on site
Which door? (for example, left door from driveway)
Door type / material
Door size, if already known
Know your brand or model? Add equipment details

Use only information you already have. Unknown details will not prevent your report.

Door brand / model
Opener brand

Have multiple doors? Describe one door per report so its symptoms and equipment stay together. A technician can assess the other doors separately.

Answers stay in this tab. Refreshing clears them. This is not a technician inspection.

Before you check your garage door

Can this tool diagnose a garage door problem?

It helps you organize symptoms you have already noticed and understand when to contact a technician. It cannot identify a failed part or confirm that a door is safe. Do not operate damaged equipment or adjust springs, cables, force settings or safety devices to answer a question.

What will my report include?

Your equipment details, observations, unknowns and suggested next steps appear together in a report you can download or print. Keep the report private and share it directly with your technician if you request service.

Where can I find maintenance advice or my opener manual?

Browse our maintenance guidance and manufacturer manuals. For professional help, explore maintenance and tune-ups or garage door repair.
