Style & finish
Compare panel profiles, colors, windows and the appearance you want from the street. If painting is part of the plan, agree on the product instructions and who finishes the panels before ordering.
Boise / New doors & replacement
Garage door installation in Boise starts with the opening you have and the way you use it. D&L helps you plan the door, finish, tracks and opener together—from a straightforward replacement to a custom fit.

From our project archive
Charlie wanted one wider door in place of two. His account describes a 17-foot-wide opening, a 7-foot-6-inch door and limited headroom. D&L supplied a five-panel door, delivered panels for him to paint, and returned to install the system.
Style, clearance and the sequence of work all matter. A historical success does not establish that the same equipment will fit your garage. Have the opening and complete door system assessed before ordering.

Bring your priorities to the conversation: appearance, natural light, privacy, comfort, noise and how often the door is used.
Compare panel profiles, colors, windows and the appearance you want from the street. If painting is part of the plan, agree on the product instructions and who finishes the panels before ordering.
The opening width and height are only the start. Headroom, side clearance, backroom, ceiling obstructions and the opener position need to work together.
Discuss insulation, perimeter seals, sunlight through windows and how the garage is used. A new door is one part of the building envelope; it cannot by itself guarantee a particular room temperature.
Not sure you need a replacement? If the existing door may be repairable, start with a Boise repair assessment. A damaged opener alone does not establish that the entire door needs replacing.
From first call to handover
01
Tell us whether this is an existing-door replacement, a new opening or a custom project. Share photographs from a safe position and explain what you want to change.
02
Review measurements, clearance, the door system and opener together. Identify any opening preparation or other work that needs a separate contractor.
03
Confirm the door specification, finish, equipment, removal and access requirements in the quote. Agree on timing and responsibilities before work begins.
04
The installation team fits the agreed system and checks its operation. Ask for a demonstration of the controls and safety features, care instructions and written product information.
Before you approve
Review the exact door and finish, glass, insulation, tracks, springs, opener plan, removal and site preparation. Confirm any applicable charges and written product and labor terms. A photograph or approximate measurement helps start the conversation; it does not replace the final site assessment.
Tell us about low ceilings, storage racks, lights, pipes, narrow access or a garage that is your only practical entry. For a changed opening, agree who handles structural work and any required approvals. Do not remove the existing spring or track system yourself.

Yes. Share the opening dimensions and your goals with the Boise team. Final measurements, headroom, side clearance, track layout and opener compatibility must be reviewed before a door is selected or ordered.
Possibly. The technician needs to assess its condition, compatibility with the new door, mounting arrangement and safety functions. Reusing an opener should be a confirmed part of the installation scope, not an assumption.
Some projects can be planned that way, but changing the opening requires a separate assessment of the structure and any applicable approvals. Agree who is responsible for that work before ordering. Charlie’s Boise project is a historical example, not proof that every opening can be converted.
Confirm site access and clear vehicles, storage and valuables from the agreed work area when it is safe to do so. Keep children and pets away. Leave the existing door, springs, cables and tracks in place for the installation team.
Compare the specified door and finish, glass and insulation, track and spring system, opener plan, removal, site preparation, installation, applicable charges and written product and labor terms. Ask the team to identify exclusions before you approve the work.
