LiftMaster 4690L

A chain-drive Wi-Fi opener with battery backup, LED lighting and an integrated camera. Its shared manual also covers 6690L and 6580L, so model-specific instructions matter.

What to know before you choose

Comparing a ceiling-mounted chain-drive system with connected camera features. Check the rail arrangement and door travel requirements before ordering.

Confirm the rail, door height, power outlet, network coverage and included controls. A camera does not replace the door safety sensors.

Official manufacturer documents

Manuals, installation information & brochures

Choose the document that matches your model, production version, and hardware. PDFs open on the manufacturer’s host; download and support pages take you to the manufacturer’s document selector.

Documents remain on their official hosts so you can check for revisions. A working link does not establish compatibility with a different model.

How to identify the right opener manual

  1. Read the equipment label. Use the model on the motor unit, not the remote control. Record the manufacturing date if shown.
  2. Match the configuration. Check the rail, controls, and production version. Similar names do not guarantee identical setup instructions.
  3. Read the document scope first. Check its model list, language, revision, and warnings before using a diagram or procedure.
  4. Stop if the equipment does not match. Send clear photos through our contact page rather than guessing a part or adjustment.
If the door is crooked, a cable is loose, a spring is broken, or the door drops unexpectedly, stop operating it and arrange service. Do not adjust spring tension, loosen bottom brackets, or bypass safety devices. Installation documents are technical references, not a substitute for appropriate training.

Your 4690L questions

Does the shared manual make these models identical?

No. Follow the section for your model and drive system rather than assuming every illustration or feature applies to all three models.

Is this a belt-drive opener?

No. LiftMaster identifies the 4690L as chain drive. Compare it with the belt-drive entries and discuss the actual garage layout with your installer.

Will the camera work without my home network?

Do not assume connected features remain available without a working network. Check the manufacturer app and connectivity requirements separately from battery-backed door operation.

Compare within garage door openers

Compare the published specifications, then read each guide’s fit and document notes. A product-family range is not an exact-model rating.
